Radiation and X-Ray Safety Training

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR LABORATORY PRACTICAL SESSIONS: (Vancouver Campus Only)
We are thrilled to share that renovations of the Vancouver Campus teaching laboratory are nearly complete! We are anticipating to be back in our Koerner Pavilion Lab on the ground floor of UBC Hospital for the start of July 2019. Once we are settled back in, offering of the Radiation Safety Practical Sessions will resume:

  • Radiation Safety Practical sessions will be offered on first feasible Friday
  • Morning and afternoon sessions will be offered
  • Additional Fridays will be added until everyone currently waitlisted has been able to sign up for a session.
  • To assist us, please add your name to the waitlist so that we can notify you as soon as firm dates for each session are available.

Faculty, Staff, a visiting researcher or student working under a radiation permit or holding a radiation permit who has not taken the course before Radiation Safety Course
Non-UBC $250
  • 2-3 online modules (quiz for each module)
  • 1-2 assignment(s)
  • 1 practical session (only if working with open source radiation)

Note: Number of online modules/assignments depends on if you work with open source radiation, sealed source or both

Faculty, staff, visiting researcher or student working under a radiation permit or holding a radiation permit that has an expired certificate Radiation Safety Course (with Refresher Option in Entry Survey)
Non-UBC $250
  • 2-3 online modules (quiz for each module)
  • 1-2 assignment(s)

Note: Number of online modules/assignments depends on if you work with open source radiation, sealed source or both
