Registration
Prerequisites
In order to be accepted into the science diving program you must have the following prerequisites.
- Possess a nationally recognized recreational SCUBA certification with a minimum of five open water dives
- Possess a current and nationally recognized First Aid and CPR certification, OFA Level 1 or equivalent (e.g. Red Cross, St John Ambulance)
- Be declared medically fit to dive by a licensed physician trained diving medicine as recognized by WorkSafeBC
A Diver Registration and Waiver Form (PDF) must be completed and submitted to UBC’s Dive Safety Officer (dive.safety@ubc.ca).
