Diving

The Scientific Diving Program is based on the Canadian Association of Underwater Science (CAUS) standards and is administered by the UBC Diver Control Board (DCB).

The standards for diving safety are outlined in the UBC Dive Safety Manual (WORD), which are guided by the CAUS Dive Safety Manual (PDF).

To be considered as an applicant for the Science Diving Program, you must be a part of an Approved Project.

If you currently aren’t running an independent program but are interested to volunteer and become qualified, or you would like to register for scientific diving qualification, please contact UBC’s Dive Safety Officer (DSO) (dive.safety@ubc.ca).
